Street & Competition Great products, service, and prices! Street & Competition started on a Saturday morning in May of 1981 at Bryar Motorsports Park in Loudon, NH, now known as New Hampshire Motor Speedway. I was a first-year expert, riding a TZ250 in AAMRR club races. Like most racers, I was looking for a way to offset racing expenses. I approached Jerry Wood, owner of Competition Machine and Supply, who sold parts and tires at Loudon and Bridgehampton races. I inquired about purchasing tires from CMS to sell at Pocono and Summit Point races I was planning to participate in. I was just hoping to sell enough tires at those events to keep fresh tires on my own race bike. His reply took me completely by surprise! He said he would be interested in selling his entire parts and tire inventory. I considered the offer and discussed it with my partner on Saturday night. We agreed that it was a great opportunity. On Sunday afternoon we made arrangements to meet with Jerry on Monday to finalize the deal. We loaded our van with the newly acquired inventory and headed home with great expectations. Needing a name for our new business, we decided on Street & Competition Cycle. Eight years and many races later, I purchased my partner's interest and formed Street & Competition, Inc. Our mail order and trackside service business started in a three-car garage. We have expanded to two locations plus our ongoing trackside support service. We continue to grow to meet the needs of our customers. Our knowledgeable staff is available to provide you with a high level of personal service. Our large and extensive inventory allows for fast processing and shipping of your orders. We look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve you in the years to come.
